Nina Rajarani Dance Creations, London, UK since 2004.
Listed below are projects, which Dr. Iyengar has worked in.
My Stamping Ground
This work is a fresh take on a classic story. Be it Shakespeare's Romeo
and Juliet, Broadway’s West Side Story or Bollywood's Josh,
the tension of forbidden love has always caused thrill and heartbreak
throughout the ages. This is the story of a torrid love affair amidst
feuding gangs. A beautiful blend of Classical music and Rap go hand in
had with Bharatnatyam and Contemporary movements
Spring Tour – 11 shows
2009
Play Ball – Bend it, Chemistry, Quick This work is
a triple bill of short Bharatanatyam dance pieces. This work with
live music shows off ‘what the lads do’ when at play, when
in love and when at work.
Spring Tour – 20 shows
Bend it… is on football. Let’s
play ball! The use of complex footwork that Bharatanatyam and football
share makes the piece interesting. The dancers tackle, they shoot, fake
injury like all the greats and a goal is scored.
Quick! ! is the winning
piece of the Place Prize 2006, Europe’s largest choreographic
competition.. This piece showcases an energised display of 8 London
businessmen depicting the cut-throat
2008
Bend It - Aerial A mind-blowing collision between football and Bharatanatyam
brings "the beautiful game" out of the theatre to its natural
habitat, the outdoors. This work incorporates aerial work in bungees,
directed by Upswing. Bend it.Aerial promises a match like no other. Players
fight it out for Premiership glory, with intricate footwork, slow motion
replays and that heart stopping ultimate goal.
Summer out door event – 6 shows
2008
Quiet Please
The work weaves a romantic love triangle
set in India around the hurly burly of the manic London business world
that is driven by aggression and competition.
Spring tour – 16 shows
2007
Mirage - Kadala & Checkers Mirage is a double bill featuring
two separate works, Kadala choreographed by Nina Rajarani and Checkers

Kadala…Is it love? This work, portrays a woman
in love who is in constant dialogue with her mind, talking to her absent
lover.
Checkers – a Human Chess Board, This piece is an intense
display of insincerity, deception and suspicion that’s a part
of the human mind - have you ever pretended you are someone or something
you are not, for personal gain? Mirage – an optical illusion.
2006
Women are from Venus – Shukra Shukra is an abstract work that celebrates the planet
Venus within the Hindu aesthetic. In Hinduism, this planet is personified
